Welcome to my Blog!

Hi and Welcome!

I am pretty new to blogging, but I love reading blogs and looking at all of the creative ideas other cottage lovers have! I love thrifting, vintage items, and entertaining. I am also trying to start my own business, using my very own creativity. I make little girls Tutu's and I love making fun creative signs. I am learning to sew and can't wait to create with you! I am working on new inventory for the new year, so I will be updating it as much as I can!

Thank you for stopping by.

La ti da~ Making changes

Howdy everyone!  I am in a wonderful mood today and working on changes to my online shop and getting ready to move into a new booth space at Meadows of Memories & Momentos in Argyle, Tx.

I have changed the design on my shop website and I will be adding a new category called Vintage Home.  I will be adding some of my Vintage and French inspired wares to my website.  I am also moving into a new booth space at the Antique shop in town.  The new space is a bit more visible and has slightly more space.  The antique shop is not very large, but there are so many charming things to see. Right across the street, there is another shop and little bistro in an old bank called The General Store.  It is filled with wonderful home accessories and the old bank vault is a wine cellar.  I am drooling over a painted door, I would just love for my formal room, next time I stop in I will try to get a picture!

On top of all the web store and booth space changes, I am working on a birthday party for my neice.  she will be turning 13 and we will be having a zebra and hot pink themed sleep over.  I am including a few pictures of the work in progress.  Nothing shown is completely finish, but just an idea of what we will be setting up.

The girls will be watching movies, along with many other games and activities, so I am going to setup a Candy bar in front of the TV for the girls to enjoy.  We will have many different types of candy, plus Cupcake pops.  As seen on http://www.bakerella.com/

Teenagers are all about pictures right now and to have some fun I will be setting up a photo booth for the girls.  This is my inspiration!

And to go along with the photo booth, I will be creating a photo montag of Angela and her friends above the fire place!

I have one craft activity planned for the girls... Did I say we will have a total of 11 teenagers?!  My main rule - don't talk to me.  Just kidding!  The girls will get to make Bottle Cap necklaces with Zebra print images and ribbon for the necklace.

And the Evening festivities will be roasting Marshemellows and Hot Dogs over a fire pit!  As long as the weather cooperates.  I trully want to create a fun and memorable evening for all the girls coming.  I plan to send them home with their very own Zebra photo album, sleep masks, bath stuff, hot pink chinese lanterns for thier rooms, and lots of other goodies.  (Plus the leftover Candy Bar yummies!)

I love part planning.  It allows me to be creative and have fun and it's even better when it is for someone else and I get to suprise them with so many fun things.

Well, this is my week and I hope everyone has a Blessed and wonderful weekend!

My Oh SOoo Boring Bathroom

So, I promised some pics of my Oh sooo boring bathroom.  This is looking into the Bath through the door.  I hate the blue and want to change out the cabinets for dark wood and a nice Vanity and add some nice crown moulding.  I guess it has to do with having two toddlers, but I really want a romantic bathroom and Master bedroom (the bedroom is pretty blah too!)  Does anyone have any suggestions on paint color?  The space is not large and I like to change accessories and things like that ever so often.
I also want to keep my Bedroom a color I can change out bedding.  I get way too bored with one specific bedding or colors or decorations.  I want to set a mood and I am just stuck.  I equate it to writers block.

When we purchased our house, it had carpet in the bathroom.  We did a few minor things to update, but being newlyweds we didn't have alot of money to invest in our Bathroom.  We plan to re-tile the shower and I want a new "white" bathtub.  We also plan to change the tile on the floor.  I love all colors, but I really want something clean, french vintage, and beautifully romantic.

This is the closet entry area.   It is just so blah.

Well on a lighter note here is a picture of my two wonderful babies "doing the dishes" for mommy!

The kitchen, like the master bath and bedroom, is another future project, but I at least have some ideas for the area!

Thanks for any ideas you guys may have!

On the Hunt...

As a new shop owner... or at least I am working on being a shop owner... I am on the hunt for some fun items to add to my online shop website.  I have found a few resources, but I am really working on what type of style to go with.  I love cottage, shabby chic and I love the Frenchy look.  Maybe I will do all 3! I am really in love with the new burlap pillows with french style images on them.

(Not sure where I saw this pillow - if anyone knows let me know!)

The texture is wonderful and to me it is very simple.  I also plan to continue shopping for vintage items to sell in my booth space and a few to add to my online shop.  I recently found a beautiful vintage sugar shaker.

I actually plan to keep this one for myself.  I saw a sugar shaker like this used in the bathroom with bath salts and it was so beautiful.  I do plan to let the silver topper patina!

Ok, fellow bloggers, I have a decorating dilema.  I want to create a beautiful and romantic master bathroom.  Right now my bathroom is a very unpleasant blue and pretty BLAH.  Does anyone have any resources or ideas?  I will post some pictures of my bathroom tomorrow.  I think I am leaning to a Frenchy look.  I wish I didn't have designers block! My poor little camera is having some problems.  It probably doesn't help that I lug it around in my bag with out a case!

Well, I hope to get back to cooking for the Foodie Friday!  My big girl day job has been keeping me pretty wrapped up in work.  Lots n Lots of work...  It seems that instead of slowing down and getting to a regular pace, we are speeding up and working on increasing our output.  Also, if any of you bloggers have time, Say a prayer for my sweet cousing.  Her name is Wendy and she was diagnosed with cancer this past year.  She is currently in the hospital with an infection, but seems to be doing better.  She has pretty much isolated herself and is falling into a depression.  I hope to visit her Saturday and pray that the Lord will work in her heart and start allowing people to help her!

Have Sweet Dreams!

Flea Market Finds!

I am busy and on the hunt for wonderful things for my booth space at
Meadows of Memories and Momentos in Argyle, TX
and this last Saturday at the Bowie Flea Market, I found so many treasures it was unbelievable!

This isn't the best picture, but I found 7 Limoges Plates

The sweet little Lords Prayer plate, the hanging basket in the background and two very lovely doilies!

At the Bowie Flea Market, they have one booth filled with gorgeous fabric remnants at a great price. I found this damask peice. It will go well with my Zebra Birthday Party coming up!

I also found a beautiful twin size headboard that I have a specific project in mind.  I wasn't able to get a picture of the headboard.  It is currently at my friends house waiting for me to bring a larger vehicle to pick it up!

My final booth item is this little pillow I created with a clipart image.  I wanted something a little romantic with Valentinesday coming up!

I hope everyone else has had a productive and relaxing weekend.  I am feeling very blessed in my life right now, although I am very busy, I am grateful to be busy.  I hope to see everyone on this weeks Foodie Friday now that I have a bit more time to create a nice dish.

Happy President's Day!

MIA

I apologize for being MIA for the past week and a half.  My big girl, day job has taken over my life this past month and free time has become something of a luxury.  I wanted to check in with everyone and say Hi.

Well, I was working in my guest room, putting up ornaments and organizing some of my craft stuff and I had left a few boxes out.  My son snuck upstairs ( I thought he was in the office with my husband and was not) and did this damage in a few minutes.  The broken ornaments are my husbands from his mother.  It was very difficult to scold him, because it was so funny, but he did have to go to bed and take his nap earlier that day.  We are also grateful he didn't hurt himself with the glass.  Although, I ended up with a small cut on my finger.
The mischeif my son caused.

I had intended on posting some pictures from the party I hosted, but I had a camera mishap and lost all the pictures on my memory card.  I am going to try to get some copies from my mom and if I am able to, I will post the pcs at a later date.

I am very excited to announce that in the little bit of spare time I had this last week I decided to open up a booth space at an antique shop in Argyle, Tx.  Currently my booth space is pretty small and slightly hidden, but at the end of the month I am moving into a bigger space.  I am also going to be shop shop shopping as much as I can this month to get my space filled up.  I want to find a few things to put on my website and also in the antique shop.

The shop name is
Meadows of Memories and Momentos
Antiques

Well I hope everyone else is having a great week.  I will be pretty busy through the next 2 months with my Big Girl job, but I intend to set aside more time for the blog now that the big work hurdle has been passed.
I want to update everyone on all of my finds and exciting treasure hunting I do.

I kick off the hunt on Saturday in Bowie, Texas at Second Monday!
